Itinerary:
DAY 1 Adelaide to Merna Mora Sheep Station
Pick up from central accommodation or bus station between 6.30 and 7am
Leave the beautiful city of Adelaide behind and head north along the Eastern sides of the Gulf St Vincent & Spencer Gulf. Visit historical coastal towns and learn about our rich maritime history.
Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by stunning 600 million year old mountains and an abundance of wildlife at Mambray Creek National Park. If you like, we will take you on a 1 hour guided bush walk with spectacular views over Spencer Gulf and the surrounding areas.
Continue our journey and cross one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth (The Flinders Ranges), visit the picturesque township of Quorn with its old buildings and a famous history of railways and original Australian films.
Head out on the dirt tracks to Warren Gorge and search for the elusive yellow footed rock wallaby. Travel through a rich landscape of ancient mountain ranges, deserted outback towns and spectacular Australian scenery.
Take a 1 hour guided bushwalk at Yourambulla Caves and see aboriginal artwork dating back thousands of years.
Arrive at Merna Mora Sheep Station in the late afternoon, situated on the south-western side of the famous Wilpena Pound. Help your guide prepare a delicious Aussie barbeque. Sit back and relax around the campfire and witness the outback night sky.

DAY 2
After a hearty breakfast, we head out along the dirt tracks of the Moralana Scenic drive with magnificent views of the mountains and an abundance of wildlife. Continue to the Stokes hill lookout take a photo, breath in the air; and embed in your memories forever the beauty of this magical land.
After lunch at the old copper mining town of Blinman, one of the local mining experts will take you deep underground. Explore the mine, and its many shafts, hear the stories of the Welsh mining pioneers.
From here we head further north into the outback, through the Gammon Ranges National Park and onto the world famous Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary. This area is located in the ruggedly spectacular Northern Flinders Ranges, an area of wild and untamed granite terrain.

DAY 3
The world renowned 4wd Ridge Top Tour is included this morning. Hang on and let your expert guide traverse the steep terrain up to the top of Sillers Hill Lookout. Approx. 4.5 hour return. Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the many wilderness spots, before departing Arkaroola around 2pm.
Take a different track now and head west which will take us through the awe inspiring scenery of the Gammon Ranges then the Aboriginal community of Nepabunna.
Travelling southwest out of the ranges in the late afternoon, we will be treated to an ever changing landscape, to arrive at the historic Beltana homestead and settle in, enjoy a drink around the campfire and reminisce of a day filled with adventure.

DAY 4
Have a wander around this working outback station. Check out the old woolshed, which was once one of the largest and most important in the land. See the monument set in stone as a tribute to Ernest Giles who set out from Beltana on one of Australia’s famous pioneering expeditions. From the desert plains, back into the mountains, we now venture along the word famous Brachina Gorge. Known as the corridors through time, you will witness geological formations that date back to the beginning of time. This area has enticed geologists, painters and photographers from around the globe to marvel at the best nature has to offer.
Next Wilpena Pound, walk into the pound itself, marvel at a diverse landscape of Flora, Fauna and a rich pioneering history. Maybe just kick back, relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the mountains or take a flight and get a bird’s eye view of Wilpena Pound and the spectacular Flinders Ranges. Campfire cooking tonight.

DAY 5
Take an early morning walk and listen to the unique sounds of the Australian bush. After breakfast we will head south to the beautiful little village of Melrose, the first town settled in the Flinders Ranges. If you like, enjoy a coffee at Bluey Blundstone’s blacksmith shop or take a historical walk around town.
As we travel through the Southern Flinders Ranges, the landscape will change into the lush rich rural lands of the south and the world famous wineries of the Clare Valley. Lunch is provided at the country Stone Hut Bakery, where the delicacies are handmade and cooked in the wood oven.
Last stop on this epic journey that has taken us through some of the most amazing areas on earth, is the Seven Hills Winery for some well-deserved tasting of the local drop.
